More Information

Join us at Keystone Kidspace for our first skateboard camp, in partnership with the team from Exist Skate Shop! Don't miss this unique opportunity to learn from professionals on Kidspace's very own indoor pump track that will be installed in August. You will have the track to yourselves until we open our doors to the public at 10am. Even more exciting - the last session in this series will be held at Reid Menzer Skatepark.

Instruction will be based on each young skateboarder's current abilities. The pump track course is designed and constructed for beginners and is created entirely for fun and learning to pump, carve and move while increasing comfort and gaining speed. If the skateboarder has never stepped on a board, instruction will include how to get on a skateboard, proper foot placement, how to push and get yourself rolling, and how to balance properly. If the skateboarder has more experience, instruction can be provided on more advanced tricks including ollies, kickflips, and any other trick the skateboarder needs guidance with. Please reach out to existskateshop@gmail.com with any questions about instruction.

Camp will run for 4 consecutive Saturdays from 9-10am beginning on August 13th:

  • Saturday, August 13th from 9-10am @ Keystone Kidspace
  • Saturday, August 20th from 9-10am @ Keystone Kidspace
  • Saturday, August 27th from 9-10am @ Keystone Kidspace
  • Saturday, September 3rd from 9-10am @ Reid Menzer Skatepark

NOTE ABOUT EQUIPMENT: Helmets must be worn. Helmets and some skateboards will be available to borrow during camp sessions. It is suggested that you bring your own if you own them. Skateboards can be adjusted by staff to work properly for each skateboarder. Exist Skate Shop is also offering a 15% discount off equipment with proof of camp registration.

NOTE ABOUT INSTRUCTORS: There will be a professional instructor per 5 students, who will be grouped by ability. The instructors from Exist Skate Shop have over 80 years of experience in skateboarding between them. You can see their bios below.

Why I love skateboarding: It helps clear my mind and I love the feeling of learning something new. You have the ability to be as creative as you want.

Jon first stepped on a skateboard at the age of 8.  He has always had the desire to own his own business. Jon was able to follow his dreams and first opened Exist in 2007. After a short time away from the business side of skating, Jon, Benn, and Gabe re-opened Exist in 2021. Jon would love to see more kids get on a skateboard, part of his mission with Exist is to better the community and to help anybody interested learn about Skateboarding. Outside of skateboarding, Jon loves spending time with his wife and two daughters.

Benn has been on a skateboard since the age of seven when locals built a half-pipe down the street from him. He lives in York with his wife and two daughters and is employed as a registered nurse. He wanted to give back to skateboarding and decided to open Exist Skate Shop with friends Jon Gordon and Gabe Dunmire in order to support the local community, skatepark, and have events/competitions for skateboarders. Benn's goal for York is to empower a community of skateboarders who can help each other progress on and off of a skateboard.
