Kitchen Science Mini-Camp

Thursday, July 30, 2026

12:30-3:30pm

Science is on the menu! In this culinary mini camp, campers will explore the science hiding in everyday ingredients using the Keystone Kidspace KitchenLab.

Through experiments, challenges, and edible investigations, campers will taste, tinker, and see how science makes our favorite foods possible and make some delicious discoveries along the way!

We’ll get a little messy, a lot creative, and maybe even a little surprised as we taste and investigate what’s really happening inside the foods we eat everyday.

If this event is at capacity, you may join the waitlist.
Melissa E. Cox

Melissa Cox, M.S., M.B.A. Melissa is Keystone Kidspace’s resident chemist, baker, and seamstress—a multi-passionate expert with a love for curiosity-fueled learning. She holds Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Chemistry, plus a Master’s degree focused on nonprofit organizations. Her career path has taken her through pharmaceutical companies, the Humane Society, the National Institute of Standards & Technology, the National Cancer Institute, restaurants and cafes, classrooms, tutoring sessions, and even her own in-home cottage bakery. She is also fluent in Spanish, allowing her to connect with even more learners and families. Whether she’s whipping up something delicious, sewing something fabulous, or helping makers learn by doing, Melissa brings creativity, imagination, and joy to every experience she leads.
