School’s Out Mini Camp: Fish Frenzy

9am-12pm

Ever wonder what makes a fish a fish? Why can some fish swim so fast and how do some seem to glow in the dark? Come and learn all about fish adaptations and what makes these finned friends so unique. This program will also include learning about the art of Gyotaku and each participant will get to take home a bag with a fish print on it! Participants should come dressed in clothes that could get fabric paint on them.

This is a drop off camp for children 7-12 years old.

Make it a full day! Campers attending the School’s Out Mini Camp: Fish Frenzy and Trash to Treasure can add 30 minutes of supervised lunch between sessions for $10. Pack a nut-free lunch, and we’ll take care of the in-between so your camper can stay with us all day! Email Abby Searer at ASearer@keystonekidspace.org to register for lunch.

Note: Campers not registered for supervised lunch must be picked up at the end of the morning camp and return for afternoon camp check-in.

Lauren Fauth

Lauren Fauth joined the National Aquarium in May 2012 and currently holds the position of Manager of Education Programs, she oversees school programs both in the Aquarium building and at schools, homeschool programming, teacher professional development and summer camp programs. Lauren’s passion is to bring students into new experiences to foster a connection with the marine (or terrestrial) world. She is always looking for new ways to provide opportunities to both students and teachers to become engaged with the outdoors. Prior to coming to the National Aquarium, she worked in North Carolina at two of the North Carolina State Aquariums where she gained her love of teaching environmental science. She also works/volunteers at Nixon Park Nature Center, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and Make A Wish. When not working, Lauren can be found hanging out with her husband, daughter, and dogs (both resident and foster) most of the time exploring nature!
